CUSTOMER QUOTES:

"Moore Engineering Services uses one tribometer exclusively for measuring slip resistance of floors. Many different tribometers are available but the BOT-3000 is the only unit approved by the National Floor Safety Institute for use in slip resistance testing and walkway auditing. The BOT (Binary output tribometer) uses a modified drag sled method, is self-propelled, completely automated, and provides results in secure electronic format (PDF) for increased credibility. Moore Engineering Services believes this to be the most accurate apparatus, while providing the most reproducible results." - Scott Moore, President of Moore Engineering Services

"Thanks - just got a lot of new clients for the next 6 months!! The BOT makes a difference." - Christopher Meaney, Vice President of Sales and Marketing - ABCO Products, Inc.

"Nu-Safe Floors has been using the BOT 3000 since it first came into production.   The dependability of the instrument in the field has demonstrated unparalleled precision on hundreds of different floor surfaces.  The data that we have collected using the BOT 3000 has been used in thousands of reports for our clients from restaurant chains, casinos, amusement parks, and resorts.  This instrument has revolutionized the definition of floor safety, and, as a result, has helped define what makes a floor surface safer."  Ken Fisher, C.O.O. of Nu-Safe Floor Solutions, Inc.

The BOT-3000 conforms to ANSI/NFSI B101.1, "Test Method for Measuring Wet SCOF of Common Hard-Surfaced Floor Materials" and ANSI/NFSI B101.3, "Test Method for Measuring Wet DCOF of Common Hard-Surface Floor Materials, which are available for purchase from the ANSI webstore (click above ANSI logo to go there now) and the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) website: www.nfsi.org

The BOT-3000 has been granted "approved tribometer" status for measuring wet DCOF by the NFSI. Click link below to view approval letter.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BOT- 3000

The concept for the device materialized in the early 1990’s in Germany as a response to the government-provided worker’s insurance industry requirement for a field-use tribometer to be used in place of the DIN 51130 ramp, which was strictly a lab device. Several portable tribometers were designed, constructed and tested, including the FSC-2000 which was the forerunner of the BOT-3000. A device known as the GMG-100 eventually became the German government’s official device for the DIN 51131 Standard Test Method.

The FSC-2000 enjoyed success for many years in private industry floor testing, and even became the standard portable tribometer for Holland. In 2003, the National Floor Safety Institute began importing and testing the FSC device in the US. It was deemed to be favorable over the other devices offered at that time, mainly due to its accuracy, repeatability, and simplicity. In 2005, Variosystems acquired the rights to the technology, and after some revision and modification, began offering the newly updated design for sale as an American-built portable digital tribometer.

Today, the BOT-3000 has become the most accurate and user-friendly portable electronic tribometer available anywhere.
